I can't say enough about Harbor! My daughter started there at 12 weeks old, it was not easy leaving such a tiny baby, but from the start I knew Harbor was the right choice The kids learn so much! My daughter's language and social skills are far beyond those of other babies her age and I credit Harbor for that. She adores her teachers and has a few favorites but it's comforting when she starts to get excited when we pull in the parking lot and then flies out of your arms into her teacher's arms! It's truly like being a part of a family!
Harbor Child Care Manhasset has exceeded my expectations! My daughter started there when she was 21 months old and even though she only attends part-time, she has thrived! Her social skills have increased tremendously and her verbal and expressive language is beyond what I could imagine for someone her age. The teachers are terrific and I couldn't feel more comfortable with her being in their care. I know she is safe and taken care of and for me, I am grateful.
My daughter has been attending the Harbor Child Care at Manhasset since she was 4.5 months old. We have heard good things about this place from people at our workplace and the center has lived up to our expectations. When I first met with the director and had a tour of the facility, I knew it was the right place for my daughter. She loves going to "school" and loves the entire faculty; even the teachers that aren't in her classroom greet her with a smile and take the time to get to know her. They actually have a weekly curriculum they follow, and provide nutritious meals. I also like the fact that art is included in the learning on a regular basis. The center provides a safe environment and activities which stimulate child's physical, emotional and intellectual growth. The teachers and caregivers are amazing, very caring and friendly. Also, they take the time to call you if you should know something before you pick up your child and don't mind how many times you call to check on your child. I could trust my baby with the loving and amazing staff here. We love this place.
My daughter started at Harbor when she about 10 months old. We have had only positive experiences with the center and her teachers in both the infant room and now in the toddler room which she joined recently. Her teachers truly care about her safety and well-being, and will work with you to correct any concerns. She learns so much daily at her school and loves her teachers and friends. Kristen the director is very reachable and responsive. Would definitely recommend this center.
As a new mom and career woman , find a good daycare is very important. My daughter starts going to Harbor child care since she was 3 months old. The staff are very nice and they take very good care of her. Now she is almost 6 moths old and she enjoys every day there. Harbor Child care Manhasset location is a small facility but I feel it more like family and safe to send my kid there.
My child has been attending day care here since 3 months old. I have been very happy in the care he has received. While it is a smaller scale facility and the equipment is not always new or modern, it is a clean and safe environment. The staff is truly wonderful and caring. My child has been very happy here.
My twins started daycare at 3 months of age. This was such a hard decision to leave them at such a young age, but the staff at Harbor put us at ease and made it so we could feel confident that our little ones were safe and cared for by loving and enthusiastic teachers as we left them for the day to support our family. They are also LGBT friendly and treat us and other same sex couples with children at the center with respect and consideration. The kids love going to school. I highly recommend Harbor Child Care, Manhasset.
The staff are great! They are really attentive to the needs of your child, and shower the kids with the attention they need and deserve. Location and hours are very convenient for working parents. I totally understand why so many other parents recommend the facility and why it's so worth it to get on the waiting list.
I would definitely recommend Harbor Child Care in Manhasset. My daughter loves going to daycare there. In the morning when I drop her off she runs into the room and starts playing. The teachers are very caring and attentive to the kids and I feel comfortable that she is well taken care of.
Harbor Child Care at Manhasset was my first choice for child care when I was returning to work. My colleagues had nothing but great things to say about the staff and care of their children while here and since my child started here at 4 months old I completely agree. Harbor has fantastic teachers and the culture is very welcoming, safe and engaging for the kids.
The pre-kindergarten program at Harbor Child Care provides a supportive environment for all students. Our teacher-to-student ratio enables us to focus on the needs of each individual child within a carefully planned curriculum. Harbor Child Care employs The Creative Curriculum®, which is a widely known and respected research-based curriculum with clearly defined educational objectives. Every day is a learning adventure in our prekindergarten classrooms where children are encouraged and taught to become independent thinkers. Harbor Child Care addresses all of the important areas of learning through play, and focuses on challenging children appropriately through their developmental ages and stages. Educational programing becomes more structured and offers children an opportunity to maximize their ability to succeed.
The daily schedule provides a consistent structure to the day; allowing for the development of routines and rituals. However, it permits the flexibility and openness to follow children's interest and address their needs. The curriculum encourages and supports a balance of free choice and teacher guided activities and allows time for small and large group activities. Learning through play offers children hands on experiences to develop problem solving skills, social skills and creative expression. Math, technology, science, and art components are strongly emphasized and are incorporated throughout the entire day through fun learning activities.
Many of the parents of the children who attend our Manhasset Center work at North Shore University Hospital and easily can visit their children during the day. The Center is unique as it is the only on-site infant/toddler center in the Harbor family. When children age out we refer them to other available Harbor centers in Nassau County that offer preschool and school age care as well.
The first three years of life are a period of incredible growth in all areas of a baby's development. Harbor places an importance of training our teachers both on site and off site for this development. Harbor Child Care employs The Creative Curriculum®, which is a widely known and respected research-based curriculum with clearly defined educational objectives.
The Manhasset Center encourages each child to discover not only themselves but also the world around them. We give children choices and hands-on activities that promote their development socially, emotionally and cognitively. Our caring teachers support, not supplant the families we serve.
